About us

Katja Schroedter

I always give 150 percent: My role as a working mother of two brought me to the brink of burnout in 2009. I began to question everything: What sort of life are we leading? What is our way of working? And, above all, how well do we treat ourselves? A great deal of self-discovery followed: mindfulness, yoga, Reiki, breathing techniques, Ayurveda, meditation … Eventually, in 2019 I quit my office job to realize what I had most dreamed of, even when my personal stress levels were running highest:

A “hideaway” right next to my workplace where my senses could calm down, my soul could feel safe, and my body could deeply relax.

I learned the methods* that convinced and fulfilled me, bought an American school bus, converted it into the SOUL BUS and thus made the dream of an exclusive, mobile retreat come true for everyone.

(* Training courses successfully completed: Massage Therapist, Sound Massage Therapist, SOMA Breath Instructor, Relaxation Therapist, Naturopath for Psychotherapy, Body Psychotherapist).

School Bus turns Soul Bus

The SOUL BUS started out in 2005 as a SCHOOL BUS, registered in Brunswick, New Jersey. For the next 15 years, it delivered sterling service, taking children to school. In 2020, it was retired and put up for sale. This is exactly the kind of bus I was looking for, and my Berlin dealer secured it at auction in June 2020. After all the export documentation had been completed, the vehicle traveled 1,600 miles across the USA to the port of Galveston in Texas and across the Atlantic to Bremerhaven and on to Berlin. Here, several modifications were made to obtain German roadworthiness certification from the TÜV. The conversion to a wellness facility was finally realized by VAMPER in Schönerlinde. At the beginning of July 2022, the transformation from SCHOOL BUS to SOUL BUS was complete. For more detailed information, see my blog page.
